These special machines are dedicated to the drawn pipe production, they are orizontal hydraulic presses which make on the pipe a cool tapering (peak) needed to allow the following clamp on the tube-drawing machine. One tip of the pipe is clamped by a special hydraulic clamp and it is forced through a conic matrix (or through a series of matrixes with decreasing dimension) which makes the cool tapering modifying the shape of the pipe tip.
In the pipe production, after the heat treatment furnace, it is usually placed a resizing machine with the scope to restore the diameter and circularity of the pipe’s section.
FERROCAM has directly supplied resizing machines directly to international tube manufacturers. The machines, included all the on-board systems (electrical, lubrication, hydraulic, compressed air systems), electrical cabinets and automation, have been manufactured entirely into FERROCAM’s workshop.
FERROCAM manufactured in 2014 a special handling system for Tenaris Group which has permitted to make completely automatic the cylinder factory located in Dalmine.
FERROCAM supplied and commissioned n°4 manipulators of big dimensions, equipped with laser view system, able to move pipes through many workstations pipe up to Ø711 mm of diameter, 13.6 m of lenght and weight up to 5 metric tons. The upkeep is achieved by a couple of electro-permanent magnets. The movements are automatics according to the missions setted by the operators through the dedicated software.
FERROCAM manufactured many quenching equipments for steel bars (pipes, rounds etc.) through series of
quenching heads.
These equipments are compact systems to achieve a
rapid cooling of bars previously heated at high temperature with traditional
gas furnaces or induction furnaces.
The cooling happens directing water jets on the bar in
tangential or radial direction while the bar moves forward with rotary-translating
motion.
A quenching head is made by a circural series of orientable
collectors, these collectors have each one a row of branches with nozzles on
the top directed to the center of the queching head.
These collectors are feeded through flexible hoses by
two main toroidal collectors which evenly distribute the water.
The quenching heads are mounted on motorized
structures for height adjustement according to the bar diameter.
